Dear friends,
Today is a BIG DAY! My second book, Tiny Worlds of the Appalachian Mountains, is now officially available for pre-order wherever books are sold. With 150+ watercolor paintings and illustrated maps and countless journal entries and essays, I’m so proud of this book.
Below, you’ll find several links to pre-order. This time, I’m excited to be partnering with an independent West Virginia bookstore, Four Seasons Books, to offer signed copies. They’ve carried my artwork for years and are so supportive of Appalachian artists and authors. Let’s send some love their way!
Pre-orders are HUGELY impactful for letting bookstores know that my book is worth carrying on their shelves. Since this book is regional, it’s going to be a bit more difficult to catch the attention of bookstores and media. I knew that going into this project, but this was the story that my soul wanted to tell. That being said, I appreciate every single pre-order, share, and shoutout more than you know! And as a token of my gratitude, I’ve created a digital watercolor workbook for everyone who pre-orders my book (see below!).
Thank you. Thank you for continuing to support the work that fills me up. I hope this book fills you up, too!
-Rosalie
From the Publisher:
Tiny Worlds of the Appalachian Mountains features artist Rosalie Haizlett’s hand-drawn exploration of the region’s smallest creatures and plants--a celebration of biodiversity and an invitation to slow down and appreciate nature’s hidden wonders. It’s also an adventure travel story, the result of Haizlett’s journey throughout the Appalachian peaks, trails, and rivers from Alabama to Maine to Canada. Along the way, Haizlett looks closely at the earth, discovering luna moths, earthstar mushrooms, pickerel frogs, showy orchids, and more.
Exploring national forests, national parks, wildlife refuges, and other public lands, Haizlett met with biologists, ecologists, and rangers to get an insider’s look. Tiny Worlds draws readers into her sketchbook of vibrant colors, textures, and original maps for an unforgettable journey through a treasured mountain range.
PRE-ORDER PERK: Painting Tiny Worlds digital workbook
As a thank-you to everyone who pre-orders my book, I created a free e-book featuring four watercolor tutorials that share my step-by-step process of painting a moth, moss, lichen and a bumblebee. Simply head here after pre-ordering to claim your e-book!
I love the option to get a signed copy from Four Seasons Books. Yay for independent books stores! Excited to get my copy. Thanks!
I heard you on Andy J. Pizza's podcast. I loved hearing about your journey and am excited for your book! (And I visited West Liberty U a looong time ago as a guest writer. 😊)
